Port Botany Expansion
Port Botany Expansion will provide an additional operator to work from Port Botany. The project comprises an area of approximately 11 hectares of reclaimed land. The reclamation is contained by 215 pre–cast counterfort wall units. All wall units have now been installed, and 95% of the backfill is complete to the correct FSL.
Currently, Pacific Survey has 3 surveyors looking after the front and rear crane beams, which are 75% complete. Pacific Survey is also conducting all monitoring surveys for the project, which comprises up to 1500 different types of monitoring points.
Most of the rock revetments have been constructed, apart from two underwater revetments which are yet to receive their armour layer. The new terminal access bridge is nearing completion, with all concrete decks now poured. Work has also commenced on the Penryhn Road GSW. At this stage most of the work looks to be complete by Christmas, with monitoring and minor concrete works to see out the handover date of March 2011.
