Hunter Expressway, Kurri Kurri to Branxton
Pacific Survey were contracted by Lendlease to provide all surveying services for the construction of 22 bridges, including 4 grade separated interchanges on the new $460m, 27km long dual carriageway Hunter Expressway. Our surveyors were also responsible for the set out and monitoring of numerous reinforced soil walls.
The surveyors followed proven Pacific Survey quality processes to ensure conformance with RMS specifications on this project. The twin bridges over the Main Northern Railway were designed and constructed in such a manner that only a single possession of the railway was required. This required our surveyors to verify all dimensions and levels of the bridge elements prior to landing the girders so that no delays would be incurred. The girders themselves were steel box girders that also required our surveyors to work closely with the design engineers to provide them with information about the pre-camber and deflection values so that the design bridge deck levels could be achieved.
