Southern Sydney Freight Line, Cabramatta to Macarthur

Pacific Survey were engaged by Reed Constructions on the $309m Southern Sydney Freight Line rail construction project.

The Southern Sydney Freight Line is a dedicated non-electrified rail freight line which runs 26km from Cabramatta to Macarthur. The job entailed laying the foundation material in preparation for the placement of ballast, sleepers and track. This included 14 bridges, earthwork formations, local roads and access ways, culverts and drainage structures, retaining walls and reinforced earth walls. The Southern Sydney Freight Line was constructed  within the existing rail corridor alongside, and tying into, live tracks.
