Southern Sydney Freight Line
The Southern Sydney Freight Line is a dedicated non-electrified rail freight line which runs 26 kilometres from Cabramatta to Macarthur. The job entails laying the foundation material in preparation for the placement of ballast, sleepers and track. This includes 14 bridges, earthwork formations, local roads and access ways, culverts and drainage structures, retaining walls and reinforced earth walls. The Southern Sydney Freight Line is being constructed within the existing rail corridor alongside, and tying into, live tracks.
Works currently in progress include relocation of services, general formation earthworks, Liverpool Council Access Road earthworks, foundation piling for retaining walls, construction of headstocks and abutments as well as placing precast planks for bridge decks.
